Stainless Steel Sprockets: The Pinnacle of Hygiene

Many machines operate in environments where hygiene is paramount, such as food processing and packaging, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Even in these applications, drives with timing belts and sprockets are commonly used.

However, most standard sprockets are made of aluminum or, at best, uncoated stainless steel. These materials are unsuitable for use in sensitive environments.

Neudert manufactures a wide variety of sprockets tailored to customer requirements, exclusively from stainless steel. We can produce sprockets based on standard designs or according to specific tooth profile standards. Additional requests, such as special geometries, flange discs where they are not typically provided, or other unusual requirements, are no problem for us.

Thermoforming set

Your Specialist for Deep Drawing Tools for Thermoforming Plastic Films

A customer approached us with a task: they had an in-house deep drawing machine that had been running with a tool for several years, but they now wanted to introduce a new, different shape to the market for packaging parts.

Although the machine manufacturer still exists, the customer, for personal reasons, did not want to order a new deep drawing set from them. They asked if we could produce a new set based on the old deep drawing set as a template, suitable for their machine.

A deep drawing set includes the film heating element matching the mold, the deep drawing tool with an integrated cooling system, the blow box with pre-stretching plungers, and the sealing tool with a sealing form subassembly. The complete construction was carried out in our company based on the provided samples, as well as the complete manufacturing of the parts, including the appropriate surface treatments such as anti-stick coatings for the sealing tool. The complete electrical assembly was also carried out in our company. The customer received a complete deep drawing set, ready to install in their machine, which can now be used in alternation with the old mold, depending on the product being produced.

Format parts

Format Parts – Everything on its way

Products are regularly adapted to market demands. Shapes change, designs are updated, and different sizes are required by the market. New products with new packaging are meant to attract customers' attention. However, not every packaging solution can be processed by every machine.

One of our clients faced this exact challenge. Their marketing department came up with new ideas constantly, which the technical department had to implement. But purchasing a new machine for every product change is simply not feasible. And unfortunately, when you need new format parts for machines, the machine manufacturer is often no longer in business or has extremely long response times, or the requested price is simply exorbitant.

Neudert was confronted with this requirement and, for this customer who packages bottles, measured their systems and recorded the product paths. Now, switching to a new product is quite simple: the new format, the new bottle is sent to Neudert, the basic design is already available with us, and only the bottle-specific contours are changed. After completion of production, new, different bottles can then make their way through the packaging line.

Neudert, so that every format fits.

Aluminium rims for Porsche golf trolley

Aluminum Rims for Porsche Golf Trolleys – Now it’s rolling

The fascination with Porsche - Porsche drivers are driven by passion. They feel the power that emanates from this brand and identify as "Porsche people".

It's no wonder that Porsche is also active in areas other than automobiles. There is Porsche fashion, Porsche-designed jewelry, and sports equipment, among many other things.

After intensive use, it happened: a broken rim on a golf trolley. Unfortunately, the original plastic rims were no longer available, and besides, you wouldn't be a Porsche driver if you were satisfied with plastic - a Porsche trolley needs real aluminum rims in Porsche design.

Neudert took on this challenge. Made of high-quality aluminum and anodized to withstand all weather conditions, these premium aluminum rims enable the highest cornering speeds and breathtaking acceleration of the trolley - as is customary for a Porsche.

Enjoy the ride - Neudert - now it’s rolling.

Restoration of a holder

Restoration of a Bracket - From Old to New!

An aluminum cast bracket used in a food processing company had seen better days.

The paint was unsightly, and the clamp was rusting.

Our task was to repaint the bracket with a food-safe, washable paint and replace the clamp with one made of food-grade stainless steel. Now, all necessary requirements are met, and the bracket can serve its purpose for years to come.

Overhaul of Euro hole punches

Neudert – Overhaul of Euro-Hole Punches

Our Euro-hole punches are miniature punches with a lot of power, e.g. for the Euro-hole used to hang flat pouches.
Shown are three of the first four Euro-hole punches ever manufactured by our company from the year 2007, which are now back with us for an overhaul.

For years, these high-precision punches have been in use.

Two of the punches will be reground, and the seals and sliding rings will be replaced.
The third punch has worked so much that a major service is required. In addition to the seals and sliding rings, it will receive a new cutting set consisting of a punch, die, and guide piece. Thus, this punch will be as good as new afterwards.

Grinding over the sealing roller

Resurfacing of Sealing Rolls

Sealing tools are units used to join foil-based packaging. For example, a lid is placed on a cup, two foils are welded together to form a bag, or a folded foil is joined to form a tube.

Flat bags are manufactured by pressing two foils together at four edges with two flat sealing plates under pressure and heat. The material melts and the bag is formed.

A large number of bags can be produced in a short time if, instead of using sealing plates, a machine with rotating tools is used, similar to the printing process. However, these tools must be very precise.

Neudert has taken over existing sealing rolls for a customer and reworked the imprecise sealing surfaces so that the rolls fit together with an accuracy of a few µm (micrometers = 0.001 mm).

Neudert - with us, it's all about high precision.

Table plate for saw machine

Tabletop for Saw

A band saw, when cutting parts, dips into the underlying table, leaving an opening in the saw table. If the saw can miter cut, then these are of course many openings at various angles.

The saw manufacturers naturally offer the tabletops as spare parts. However, with a tabletop that is almost as large as a Euro pallet, one can imagine the costs associated with replacing the tabletop.

For a customer, we have developed an intermediate plate, so that the customer can replace only a small plate with a few simple hand movements. Since the costs of the repair are now only a fraction of the original costs, this repair can take place more frequently, which in turn increases the cutting quality due to the better bearing surface of the parts to be sawed.

Neudert - A win-win situation for all involved.

The original table top before the repair. You can see the many cuts in the various saw angles. There is almost no support surface left for the parts to be sawn.

Grinding machine for ball bearings

Retrofit of a Grinding Machine – From Old to New!

Several special-purpose grinding machines from our partner, all from the 1980s, perform valuable services in the production of ball bearings every day. However, the machines are showing their age. The control system is no longer up-to-date, the appearance – the paint is showing signs of wear and tear – and the mechanics should also be refurbished.

Of course, it was checked whether there are new machines on the market for this purpose. However, the work with the existing machines can be done just as well, or even better than with a standard new machine, which has even more "bells and whistles". In addition, the operating personnel are familiar with the machines and production with them works flawlessly.

The machines were completely disassembled, cleaned, and repainted in-house at Neudert. During the subsequent assembly, all mechanical wear parts were replaced, and improvements that had been made in recent years were incorporated. The hydraulics and pneumatics were supplemented and improved, and brought up to the latest standard. The complete electrical system with the electronics was replaced by a modern CNC control system from Siemens.

The subsequent CE conformity declaration documents the machine's safety and certifies that the machine can be used without hesitation. All necessary documents were created by Neudert and a declaration of conformity was drawn up. The result was the desired CE marking on the machines.

Now these machines can continue to perform their work for the next generation without hesitation.

Mechanical overhaul of a bag making machine

Mechanical overhaul of a vertical form fill seal machine

Who doesn't know the situation: The old machine is down again. Play in the axes, air in the bearings lead to inaccuracies. Tolerances are becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. The machine stops more and more frequently.

The machine manufacturer has not existed for years. Sometimes it even happens that the machine manufacturer has no interest in bringing old machines back to their former glory. And if they do, they charge a lot of money for it - you can almost get a new one for that...

Surely you have experienced something like this too.

Neudert offers the solution.

In the example shown, the customer deliberately only wanted a mechanical overhaul. Every movement sequence was checked, corrected and readjusted. Visual work such as painting etc. was deliberately excluded. The customer received a mechanically overhauled tubular bag machine, which has since been working reliably again without downtime.

Embossing machine

Retrofitting CE Marking to Multiple Embossing Machines – Safety First!

Our partner owns several of these machines. Years ago, they were custom-made as special machines specifically for them. At that time, they were manufactured according to the latest guidelines and standards.

However, that was some time ago, and the requirements for occupational safety have changed.
Neudert has now reviewed and revised the safety concept. The old protective cover has been reworked, safety aspects have been integrated into the control system, and the pneumatics have been improved to ensure that nothing happens in the event of an air or power failure.

But more importantly: The subsequent CE declaration of conformity documents the machine's occupational safety and certifies that the machine can be used without hesitation. Neudert has prepared all the necessary documents and drawn up a declaration of conformity. The result was the required CE marking on the machines.

Now these machines can once again carry out their work in an industrial environment without any concerns, and the machine operators are protected from accidents and insured.

Retrofitting safety devices to a saw

Retrofitting a CE Marking to a Saw – Safety First!

While it's a special machine, a one-of-a-kind piece, manufactured sometime by someone, it does its job wonderfully. It does exactly what's needed. There's nothing else like it on the market, especially since there's no need for another machine. This one is sufficient.

Only one thing is missing: a CE marking.

Neudert was confronted with exactly this situation. It involved a miter saw used to cut special parts. It functions perfectly, but at first glance, a few weaknesses regarding safety devices were noticed.

Neudert has now reviewed and corrected the safety concept. Some guards had to be reworked, and a few switches now also check that the guards are in place. Other electrical improvements were also necessary.

But more importantly, the subsequent CE conformity declaration documents the machine's occupational safety and certifies that the machine can be used without hesitation. All necessary documents were created by Neudert, and a declaration of conformity was drawn up. The result was the long-awaited CE marking on the machine.

Now it can once again do its work in an industrial environment without hesitation, and the machine operators are protected from accidents and insured.

Mechanical overhaul of a drilling machine

Mechanical Overhaul of a Multi-Spindle Drilling Machine

It had drilled tens of thousands of holes, but now it was time for a break. The machine needed a vacation.

And just like a wellness holiday for a person, the machine was treated to a spa day at Neudert.

First, it was given a thorough cleaning. Just like a person starting a spa treatment with a bath, the machine was stripped of the chips and oil that had accumulated over the years. The paint was restored, giving the machine a fresh new look.
Next, it was time for a massage. While a human might have their bones realigned, the machine had its mechanical bearings replaced, worn shafts coated and reconditioned, or replaced entirely. The entire mechanics were inspected and every movement was reset. Just as a human's back often attracts the attention of a masseuse, the main focus for the drilling machine was the complex multi-spindle head. After a complete overhaul, it purred like new, and all the rattling and clattering was eliminated.

Then came the renewals. Just as some women treat themselves to a new hair color, the machine received a completely new hydraulic system. Old controls and valves were replaced with brand-new, state-of-the-art components, ensuring both operational safety and a secure supply of spare parts for years to come.

After completion of the work, the machine returned to its daily work, fresh and full of energy, just like we can throw ourselves back into work after a relaxing spa day.

Attached are a few impressions of how the machine looked before its transformation.

Overhaul of a shaping machine

Refurbishment of a Planing Machine

Planing, even in today's age, still has its place. Thin sheets made of difficult-to-process materials can often only be achieved with a planing process in a reasonable degree of parallelism and flatness.

But what do you do when you need a machine for that?

New planers are still being built today in China and India. But do you really want to use these machines in a production that is supposed to work efficiently? The shortcomings of their construction are too obvious.

A planer built in Germany can only be found used nowadays.

Shown here is one of the last planing machines built by Klopp in Solingen, built in the mid-1980s. The geometry of the machine was still very good. But the optics, mechanics, and electrics showed great potential for improvement.

The machine was disassembled down to the last screw, cleaned, repainted, and reassembled with replacement of worn parts. After the electrical system had been overhauled, the machine could be subjected to an extensive test and then resume its work in production.

Boot for Porsche tractor

Trunk for a Vintage Tractor – Everything in Its Place

Did you know that a tractor no longer used for agricultural purposes, but instead as a collector's item or vintage vehicle, no longer requires a rollover bar? Practical and aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
However, as with a regular car, you must carry a first-aid kit and warning triangle.

And that was precisely what was not provided for in the beautiful "Porsche Diesel" of a Neudert partner.

So the task was quickly defined: A mount had to be created that fit the attachment points of a Porsche Diesel, naturally painted in the typical red color. A lockable box should be placed on it to hold the warning triangle and first-aid kit.

At Neudert's suggestion, this "trunk" was designed to be large enough to hold a case of drinks and a lunchbox, ensuring that even on longer trips, there is plenty to eat and drink.

Happy travels to all!

For your information:
In Germany, regardless of age, if a vehicle is used as a commercial vehicle, for example, when working in an agricultural company, the driver is only insured by the corresponding professional association during their work if all safety devices (e.g., rollover bars) are installed and all other regulations are observed (written driving order, training, and instruction, etc.).
If a vehicle is not used for work but for private pleasure, the driver is therefore not insured by the professional association but by the other insurances usual for a motor vehicle (liability, comprehensive, etc.). This also eliminates the requirement for a rollover bar.
